Generation Equality Accountability Report 2024
Generation Equality is a once in a lifetime effort to unlock political will and new energy to achieve gender equality through intensified ambition, investment, and accountability.
Now in its third edition, the 2024 Accountability Report assesses progress on Action Coalition commitments and the aspirational impacts of the Women, Peace and Security – Humanitarian Action (WPS-HA) Compact. The report demonstrates, through new data analysis, impact stories, and showcased practices, that Generation Equality is delivering results and impact and providing a common platform to address the key gender equality issues of our time, confirming and consolidating the 2023 findings.
Reporting Drives Collective Accountability
In 2024, 53 per cent of Commitment Makers from 93 countries responded to the survey, covering 71 per cent of Generation Equality commitments.

Participation in Generation Equality has tangible and diverse benefits
Commitment Makers recognize that participating in Generation Equality has tangible benefits, especially for forming sustainable partnerships. Youth-led organizations report gains in technical capacities and access to new financial resources.
Fostered new and innovative collaborations and partnerships
New or expanded partnerships were reported, primarily involving civil society organizations and governments, with most partnerships occurring at the national level.
Instrumental in advancing the gender objectives of the 2030 Agenda
In 2024, Commitment Makers support scaling up Generation Equality beyond 2026 as an accelerator for the 2030 Agenda. Two-thirds view it as a catalyst for collective action.

- $10.3 billion pledged and $8.5 billion secured
- 1,184 policies, 1,050 programmes, and 3,620 advocacy initiatives
2. Economic Justice and Rights (EJR)
- $30.9 billion pledged (highest financial commitments) and $27.4 billion secured
- 303 policies, 899 programmes, and 487 advocacy initiatives
3. Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
- $6.7 billion pledged and $3.3 billion secured
- 172 new or revised policies, 769 programmes, and 483 advocacy initiatives
4. Feminist Action for Climate Justice (FACJ)
- $560 million pledged
- 65 new or revised policies, 224 advocacy initiatives, and 378 programmes implemented
5. Technology and Innovation for Gender Equality (T&I)
- $211 million pledged and $149 million secured
- 39% related to policy reform and 15% featuring financial support
6. Feminist Movements and Leadership (FML)
- $1.7 billion pledged, with 57% secured
- $50 million and $10 million invested in CSOs and youth-led organizations
WPS-HA Compact Key Findings
